The Seattle Public Library Launches the 2017 Book Bingo: Summer Reading Program for Adults

Get ready for summer by playing Book Bingo, The Seattle Public Library's popular summer reading program for adults! The Book Bingo contest is presented in partnership with Seattle Arts & Lectures (SAL) and offers a fun and creative way for Seattle readers to expand their reading selections.
HOW TO START PLAYING
Pick up a Book Bingo card from any location of The Seattle Public Library or print one from www.spl.org/summerbookbingo. Fill in the card with titles of the books you read all summer long.
HOW TO ENTER
When you've marked out an entire row or all 25 squares, bring the completed Book Bingo card to any Library location or mail it to SAL, 340 15th Ave. E., Suite 301, Seattle, WA 98112. You also can enter by posting a photo of your completed card using #BookBingoNW2017 via Facebook (@SeattlePublicLibrary @SeattleArtsAndLectures), Instagram (@seattleartsandlectures @seattlepubliclibrary) or Twitter (@SeaArtsLectures @SPLBuzz). Entries must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017
TWO WAYS TO WIN
Blackout Card
Complete all 25 squares to be entered in the drawing for our grand prize: a library of books by 2017-18 authors and two tickets to the entire SAL 2017-18 season. Blackout cards will also be automatically entered in the bingo drawing (see below).
Bingo
Complete a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line to be entered into a drawing to win a $30 gift card from one of nine independent book stores. Winning entries will be selected at random. Prizes may be collected at the Library location of your choice. Prizes include gift cards to Ada's Technical Books, Elliott Bay Book Company, Open Books: A Poem Emporium, Phinney Books, Queen Anne Book Co., Ravenna Third Place Books, Secret Garden Books, Seward Park Third Place Books and University Bookstore.
Summer Book Bingo launched Wednesday, May 17 at SAL's The Moth Mainstage storytelling event at Benaroya Hall.
Examples of Book Bingo squares include: Washington state author, published the year one of your parents were born, banned, by an author of color, a book you finish reading in a day, and recommended by a young person. There are many more fun squares to choose from.
For custom-crafted recommendations, visit a Library branch or fill out a brief form at www.spl.org/yournext5. One of Seattle's expert librarians will recommend a personalized list of five books.
