"Addressing the Opioid Epidemic" Community Discussion at The Seattle Public Library Oct. 11

Join us for an evening of presentations and Q&A from local experts on the opioid epidemic from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.
Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $7 after 5 p.m. This will be an ASL interpreted event.
From 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., information resource tables will be available in the Level 1 gallery behind the Microsoft Auditorium, featuring opioid-related resources from community organizations. Presentations and Q&A will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The program will provide community members with an overview of the opioid epidemic and community approaches for addressing the epidemic. Prevention strategies and key resources will be highlighted.
Featured presenters will include:
- Caleb Banta-Green, principal research scientist and interim director for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute at the University of Washington
- Renée Bouvion, acting regional health administrator for Region 10, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
- Deputy Chief Marc Garth Green for the Seattle Police Department
