The Seattle Public Library will feature writers and their work at several locations throughout Seattle in August.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Peter Stekel 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Thursday, Aug. 9 at the Southwest Branch, 9010 35th Ave. S.W. Local author Stekel reads from "Best Wildflower Hikes Western Washington," which features forty hikes for all abilities to find wildflower displays in the lowlands and peaks of Western Washington.  This program is part of the Words, Writers and West Seattle author series, which features writers connected to the Duwamish Peninsula.

Kim O'Donnel4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Lake City Farmers Market, Northeast 125th Street and 28th Avenue Northeast. Food writer O'Donnel demonstrates a recipe from her cookbook, "PNW Veg: 100 Vegetable Recipes Inspired by the Local Bounty of the Pacific Northwest."
