The Seattle Public Library will feature writers and their work at several locations throughout Seattle in July.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Mona Hanna-Attisha 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Monday, July 9 at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute, 104 17th Ave. S. Physician, scientist and activist Hanna-Attisha tells the dramatic story of the Flint water crisis—the signature environmental disaster of our time. It's an autobiography of scientific resistance by a relentless Flint physician who stood up to bureaucratic indifference and power.

Karen Lord7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Barbadian fantasy author and research consultant Lord reads and discusses recent work while teaching for Clarion West's Writer's Workshop.

Chris Dormaier6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at the Southwest Branch, 9010 35th Ave. S.W., 206-684-7455.  Dormaier discuss her new book, "Why Yoga Works and How It Can Work for You." This program is part of the Words, Writers and West Seattle author series, which features writers connected to the Duwamish Peninsula.
