Do you feel adrift in the sea of new technologies? Join us for talks on robotics and household items that connect to the Internet in Emerging Technology 101, The Seattle Public Library's program series at the Central Library. You'll learn what these new technologies are, why they're important, and how they're applied in real life.

Learn about this technology from Aadithya (Aadu) Prakash, a consumer electronics firmware engineer at Synapse Product Development. Prakash is currently pursuing his Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington and spends his time outside of work long-distance running, birdwatching, reading, and developing products and systems that drive change in the areas of social justice and climate crisis.

As computing power increases, artificial intelligence becomes smarter and the Internet has become available anywhere and everywhere, how is the field of robots taking advantage to this new environment?
Join Alan Meekins for a discussion about what’s emerging in the realm of robotics. Meekins has been building Internet-connected robots since 2002. Over that time he's become an active advocate of the open source Robotics Operating System (ROS). Currently Meekins leads a startup, ROSHub Inc, focused on bringing cloud based devops tools to the ROS eco-system. When he's not building startups he enjoys making interactive art installations.
