The Seattle Public Library will present monthly discussion groups for seniors at two Library locations in March.

Library events and programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Brown bag lunches are welcome. Free parking is available in the branch parking lot at both locations.

MEETING SCHEDULE

  • Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at the Southwest Branch, 9010 35th Ave. S.W., 206-684-7455. This month's topic will be "State and Local Taxations Explained & Explored." This meeting is presented in partnership with Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action (PSARA).
  • Noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at the Green Lake Branch, 7364 E. Green Lake Dr. N., 206-684-7547. This month's topic will be "Poetic Explorations with City Poet Laureate Claudia Castro Luna." This meeting is presented in partnership with PSARA and the Northwest Center for Creative Aging.

Hot Topics for Seniors is a place to discuss current national, state and local issues. The groups select topics, which may include issues such as education, health care, benefit programs, hospice, palliative care, immigration, gun control, transportation or housing.
