Open Mics and Poetry Readings at The Seattle Public Library in November

The Seattle Public Library will offer open mics and poetry readings at several locations throughout the city in November.
SCHEDULE
2018 Jack Straw Writing Program – 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636. Hear new work from members of the Jack Straw Writing Program, curated by local artist and writer Daemond Arrindell.
Booktoberfest: ALT Poetry Reading & Open Mic – 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Conor Byrne Pub, 5140 Ballard Ave. N.W. calling ALT, after the initials of our showcased poets: A Gallo-Brown, L Swartz and T Clear. In addition to the reading, there will be a handful of open mic slots: bring up to three minutes of poetry to share that you’ve read aloud and timed.
It's About Time Writers' Reading Series – 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Ballard Branch, 5614 22nd Ave. N.W., 206-684-4089. A monthly series featuring author readings and open mics. The 349th meeting features readings from some of the 2018 Jack Straw Writers: Daemond Arrindell, Corbin Louis and Dujie Tahat. Meredith Clarkwill give a short lecture on the writer's craft.
Poetry 'Potluck' – 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Ballard Branch, 5614 22nd Ave. N.W., 206-684-4089. An informal monthly gathering for listening to and reading poetry aloud. Attendees should bring a few favorite poems. This is a feast of poetry, not a food event.
