Seattle Writes: Horror Screenwriting Workshop at The Seattle Public Library May 14

Writer Ramon Isao will present a crash course in the basics of writing and pitching horror movies from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 14 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Washington Mutual Foundation Meeting Room 1, 206-386-4636 .
The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library's parking garage for $7. Seating will be on a first-come, first-seated basis. Doors to the meeting room will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the class.
Attendees should bring a pen or pencil and paper, or a fully-charged laptop, to the class and be prepared to write.
Isao is an award-winning author and screenwriter whose credits include "Zombies of Mass Destruction," "Dead Body" and "Junk." His writing has appeared in The Iowa Review, Ninth Letter, City Arts Magazine, Hobart, The American Reader and elsewhere. He is a recipient of the Tim McGinnis Award for Fiction, as well as fellowships from Artist Trust and Jack Straw Cultural Center, plus his latest film was named as Fangoria's "Top Ten Films We Hope You See." He currently teaches creative writing at Hugo House and previously taught at Columbia University.
