The Seattle Public Library to Add Hours at Six Branches, Increase Access to Central Library Book Spiral & Seattle Room in October

Beginning mid-October, The Seattle Public Library will add open hours at the Ballard, Capitol Hill, Douglass-Truth, Madrona-Sally Goldmark, Montlake and Rainier Beach branches.
Hours at these locations were temporarily reduced over the summer due to staffing constraints.
Changes to Library open hours include:
- Ballard Branch: Tuesday evening hours restored.
- Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning Tuesday, Oct. 18.
- Capitol Hill Branch: Thursday morning hours restored.
- Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays beginning Thursday, Oct. 20.
- Douglass-Truth Branch: Wednesday morning hours restored.
- Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, Oct. 12.
- Madrona-Sally Goldmark Branch: Saturday hours restored.
- Open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays beginning Saturday, Oct. 15.
- Montlake Branch: Sunday hours restored.
- Open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays beginning Sunday, Oct. 16.
- Rainier Beach Branch: Tuesday evening hours restored.
- Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning Tuesday, Oct. 18.
In coming months, as staffing levels allow, more hours will be restored at additional Library locations where hours were temporarily reduced. A complete schedule of open hours for all Library locations can be found below.
INCREASED ACCESS AT THE CENTRAL LIBRARY
The Library will also increase access to the Central Library’s non-fiction Book Spiral located on Levels 6 through 9, as well as the Level 10 Betty Jane Narver Reading Room. Beginning Sunday, Oct. 16, patrons can access these levels on Sundays through Thursdays during Central Library open hours, which are listed below.
The Library is also increasing access to The Hugh and Jane Ferguson Seattle Room, located on Level 10. Beginning the week of Sunday, Oct. 16, patrons can visit the Seattle Room by appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The following Library schedule will be in effect beginning Wednesday, Oct. 12, with the exception of the Capitol Hill Branch, which will take effect the following week on Thursday, Oct. 20. Current open hours can be found at spl.org/Hours.
