Are you an older adult looking to learn something new while we're staying at home? The Seattle Public Library has you covered. Visit our Adults 50+ page to discover our genealogy resources, plan for retirement, explore a creative hobby, take an English-learning class and more. PROGRAMS

Virtual Arts for Ages 50+

In partnership with Silver Kite, the Library is offering twenty intergenerational programs in dance, visual arts, journaling and storytelling. Each program is designed for older adults, but family and friends of all ages are welcome. Four of the programs are specifically designed for those living with dementia, including Music and Memories, Friendly Folk Dance and Writing Poetry. Registration is required, sign up instructions are listed in our calendar.

Virtual Civic Coffee Hours

Age Friendly Seattle's popular Civic Coffee Hours are held on the third Thursday of each month. These events bring community elders closer to local government officials to explore topics of interest. Our guests learn about issues, programs, and services, and officials hear from the community.

  • 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 21: Join a live, online conversation with Bobby Humes, Director of City of Seattle's Human Resources Department. Visit https://bit.ly/CoffeeHourLive2 to join online, or dial 206-686-8357 and enter the Conference ID (provided upon request).
