Event details

Virtual reality is not just for video game entertainment anymore, it can be used to bring awareness to the narrative surrounding important social issues that can impact our global community. FRP is an initiative creating VR experiences to connect undocumented immigrants to the families, hometowns, and home cultures they can’t physically return to.

Stay after the film for a Q&A panel discussion including:

  • VR director Alvaro Morales
  • Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN)
  • Latinos in Tech
  • Library staff

The panel will discuss intersections between VR, technology and activism, as well as the cultural significance and impact of using virtual reality technology to bring light the stories of undocumented immigrants.
