Join us for the live broadcast of the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games opening ceremony. The broadcast will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1 at The Seattle Public Library, Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium, 206-386-4636.

Library events are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. Brown bag lunches are welcome.

The opening ceremony for the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will kick off six days of competition and special events where the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities will be celebrated at the national level.

The opening ceremony will include traditions such as the Parade of Athletes and the lighting of the Special Olympics Flame of Hope. The festivities will also feature music and entertainment, including many Northwest artists. A 2,018-member choir will serve as a live backdrop to the show.
