How do I use my Library account online?
You can log in to your Library account on any computer or mobile device with internet access. Your card gives you access to online resources and media from many providers, and you can connect to them all through this site. With your Library card number and PIN you can:
How do I search for information or items to borrow?
Use the ‘Search' button on every page of this site to open a search box. This searches everything we offer: our website, blog, event calendar, online resources and our catalog. BiblioCommons is our catalog provider, and on their site you can do a more advanced search for items in our collection and see how many of each item is available, and where.
How do I use the online catalog?
Our catalog includes our entire collection of books for all ages, DVDs, audiobooks, large print books, downloadable e-books and music. The catalog also displays how many copies of an item we have, and where they are located. If an item is checked out, you can see when it is due back and place a hold on it. BiblioCommons is our catalog provider, and when you create an account on their site, you can reserve items to pick up at any branch, create lists, write reviews and more.
What online resources can I use with my Library card?
We offer dozens of online resources and research tools that you can use on any computer or mobile device with an internet connection. Log in with your Library card number and PIN to research consumer products, discover your ancestry, or search full-text articles from magazines and newspapers. Students can use encyclopedias and other resources to help them succeed in school and prepare for college.
What online classes can I take with my Library card?
We offer many opportunities for online learning, including all of the design, technology and business classes available at Lynda.com when you log in with your Library card number and PIN. You can also take courses with the Microsoft Imagine Academy online, then take your Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam for free.
How do I download music?
- With Freegal you can download and keep up to five songs per week, or stream three hours of music per day. Music files are in MP3 format, and play on Windows PC or Mac computers—no need for special software.
- With PlayBack you can stream or download new local music. Use your Library card to download and keep songs
How do I stream movies and TV?
Kanopy video streaming offers over 30,000 current and classic movies you can stream for free with your Library card.
Our Hoopla collection allows you to stream up to 20 titles per month, on Apple, Amazon and Android devices. Movies and TV you borrow expire after 72 hours. You can also check out music and comics from Hoopla for one week.
Our Access Video collection requires no software, and lets you stream videos from Amazon, PBS, BBC, The History Channel, A&E and more, directly to a computer or mobile device. The collection includes thousands of documentaries, educational videos, performances and how-to programs.
How do I access digital magazines?
You can read over 100 magazines on your computer or mobile device for free. Find the latest issues of popular titles and special interest magazines in our RBdigital collection.
Is information about how I use the Library online confidential?
We value your right to privacy. We will never share information about how you use the library with anyone, and we do not store information about materials you use or websites you visit.
All records with identifying information are confidential, including:
- Titles of items you check out
- Requests for information or materials
- Sites and resources you access on Library computers
- Personal information like your name, phone number, email address and Library card number
Parents and guardians can access information about the accounts of their kids under 13. Anyone 13 or older has the same confidentiality protection as an adult.

We offer several useful online tools for Spanish:
